Home condition
Hygiene and sanitation
Extent of male dominance
Abuse, alcoholism etc., in the family
and other rational judgments d epending on a particular situation. Women form group of like-minded people. An intensive one-week training on Grameen concepts, objectives and functions is given to the beneficiaries before disbursement of the loan.

Loans are repaid within a year in regular weekly installments during weekly center meetings at a time and a place selected by the beneficiaries. The loan coordinator, acting as facilitator, conducts the meetings with the help of group leader and center leader. New loan proposals, recycling loans, request for withdrawal of emergency group funds etc. are submitted, discussed and resolved during these meetings. This is also a platform to discuss other important socio-economic issues.

MANDATORY SAVINGS

A significant aspect in the repayment schedule is the mandatory saving system along with the group fund savings proportionate to the loan, to inculcate a habit of thrift and saving among the beneficiaries.

INNOVATIVE CONCEPTS

1. C.W.F. (Cattle Welfare Fund)

As substantial number of beneficiaries are engaged in rearing milching Cattle, protection of the cattle become a significant issue. The procedure in the traditional Insurance Company is so cumbersome, bureaucratic and indifferent, resulting abnormal delays in entertaining and settling claims. Besides, insurance do not provide any assistance for Veterinary needs, Cattle Feed, hygienic shelters and related areas. Under such rigid conditions, it become extremely important to protect the interest of the beneficiaries, their cattle, as well as the organization. Therefore, SRI has conceived and implemented an innovation Cattle Welfare Fund with the following salient features:

Timely compensation and assistance
Simple procedure
Allied and varied services
Customer friendly and result orient approach

2. D. D. FUND (Death and Disability Fund)

A beneficiary receiving the D.D. Fund Claim due to disability
D. D. Fund is established to protect the interest of the beneficiary, their family as well as organization in case of death, or serious disability to the Beneficiary. The salient features of DD Fund are as follows:

Timely assistance
Simple procedure
Sympathetic and human approach
Allied and varied services
Result orient Customer service

The noble vision of this innovative concept is to rest the departed soul in peace for ever without any loan liabilities. The beneficiary contribute Rs. 50 (US $ 1.11) annually towards DD Fund. If a beneficiary dies or seriously disables due to natural or unnatural circumstance, her loan liabilities are adjusted from the DD Fund, and her Savings balance is returned to her nominee, upon production of death certificate. Rehabilitation assistance is also provided to the needy and deserving members of family. Besides death and serious disability, assistance is also provided during accidental and unexpected calamities, disasters, disease etc.
