“SRI”,
(Society for Rural Improvement) Sri Moorthy Nagar, P.O. Box 2, SRI (Society for Rural Improvement) is a registered non-profitable Trust and innovative poverty alleviation program implemented in the rural areas of eight Districts in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, India since 1995. The Head office and fourteen Branches are located in the most backward Districts in the State of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, India. While the short term goals are to supplement the meager resources for subsistence, the long term objectives are Poverty Alleviation, Social Emancipation and Economic Independence of the poorest rural women. The collateral free micro-credit extended only to the poorest rural woman is exclusively utilized for economically viable and environmentally sustainable income generating activities.
SRI strives hard to break the "Dependencey Syndrome" among the poorest rural women and inculcate self-dependency, mutual assistance and sense of responsibility. Thus, SRI is sowing the right seed to make these poor women to be the masters of their own destiny.SRI has
exploded a socio-economic myth
that the poorest rural women are not credit worthy. It has proved that
"micro-credit" can be
leveraged as a significant and powerful component in our overall
socio-economic development agenda for the poorest. | Home | About SRI | Project | Activities | Beneficiaries | Internship | Fundings | Feedback | All rights reserved by REAL(IT)Y Palakkad.
